<p>In one of my past <a title="Losing weight - 7 steps to losing weight" href="http://jadendaniels.com/losing-weight-small-steps-to-losing-weight/" target="_blank">article</a>, I wrote about Losing Weight – 7 Small Steps To Losing Weight. But when I used to diet, I tried the low carbohydrates diets. (I will use carbs and carbohydrates interchangeably.) I was one of those people who believed that <strong>carbs</strong> were bad for you. I have educated myself now, and I know that <strong>carbs</strong> are not bad for you, but Too many <strong>carbs</strong> are bad.</p>
<p><a href="http://jadendaniels.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/no-carbs-2.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-64" title="Are Carbs Bad For You" alt="Are Carbs Bad For You" src="http://jadendaniels.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/no-carbs-2.jpg" width="200" height="200" /></a>I tried the Atkins Diet and Belly Fat Cure. I really got sick on the Atkins Diet. I had headaches, no energy, and at the end I felt like I was going to faint..very lightheaded.</p>
<p>On The Belly Fat Cure, you can actually have 120 <span style="text-decoration: underline;">carbs</span> a day, but only 5 sugars. This diet is actually a pretty good lifestyle to live by. But I am working out really hard to build muscle, and I need more carbs to keep my body moving.</p>
<h2><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Your Body Needs Carbs</span></h2>
<p><em>Carbs</em> are broken down into fuel for your body. Without carbs you will feel like you have no energy. The carbohydrates you eat are broken down into fuel and store in your muscles as Glycerin.</p>
<p>You need one gram of carbohydrates per pound of ideal body weight. If you are overweight and you want to lose 50 pounds, subtract 50 from your current weight and eat that many grams of carbohydrates.</p>
<h2>The Different Types Of Carbs</h2>
<p>There are two different kinds of <em>carbs:</em> Simple and Complex Carbohydrates. <em>Carbs</em> are classified by the Glycemic Index. The Glycemic Index measures how fast and how much of the sugar from the <em>carbs</em> get into your system. Carbohydratess that break down really quick have a high Glycemic Index.</p>
<p>Simple <em><strong>Carbs</strong></em>, such as soda, donuts, or candy bars are high on the Glycemic Index. They break down really quick and since they are full of sugar already, your body can not store all of the sugar as glycerin in the muscles, so it stores the excess as fat.</p>
<p>Complex carbohydrates such as beans, whole grains, vegetables are digested and break down slower. Your body is able to take this fuel and store in your muscles as glycerin. Don&#8217;t get me wrong, you can still eat too many complex carbs, too.</p>
<h3>Consume Your Carbs With A Good Protein Source<a href="http://jadendaniels.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/no-carbs.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-65" alt="carbs are good for you" src="http://jadendaniels.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/no-carbs.jpg" width="200" height="200" /></a></h3>
<p>I suggest not drinking all of your calories. Sodas and fruit juices are filled with sugar and will be stored as fat. In stead, eat your carbs with a protein. When you eat carbs and protein together that lowers the Glycemic Index.</p>
<p>When I decide to have something I am not supposed to have like ice cream. I eat a little bit with or right after eating a good source of protein.</p>
<p>One more thing, try to eat portion sizes. At my main meals, I try to eat a fist full of carbs and 1.5 fist full of protein. As far as vegetables, if they are high in fiber eat all you want.</p>

<p>My old phone had great coverage where I live and work, but not in my hometown.  I live about 75 miles from my hometown.  My dad still lives there, so I would visit quite often.</p>
<p>A couple of weeks ago, I visited my hometown I could not make a call.  My dad went on vacation and asked my wife and I to look after his business.  He owns a convenience store and he wanted me to report in on how things were going.</p>
<p>I couldn&#8217;t call him at all.  I got online with my computer with a very, very slow connection and sent a message to his wife on facebook to keep them updated.  Anyway, I was frustrated.</p>
<h2>Made The Decision To Join Solavei That Day</h2>

<p>That day, I contacted the guy who introduced me to <em>Solavei</em>.  I asked about the coverage.  He sent me to a site, so I could check the coverage and my phone to see if I could just order the SIMM card.</p>
<p>After checking the coverage and my phone, I ordered my SIMM card.  It arrived very quickly.  I installed it in my phone and was up and running.  I didn&#8217;t want to keep my last number, but I could have if I wanted.</p>
<h3>Solavei verses AT&amp;T &#8211; Putting Solavei to the test.</h3>
<p>My old phone was with AT&amp;T.  I went to the AT&amp;T website and checked the coverage I was supposed to have in my hometown.  My hometown is Dillon, SC.  The map shows I am supposed to have great coverage in Dillon, but I don&#8217;t.</p>
<p>My wife and I were on AT&amp;T and we couldn&#8217;t make a phone call.  So it wasn&#8217;t just my phone.  If we are in the middle of town we could, but not a mile out of town.</p>
<p>Last weekend, I went to visit my dad and to give my <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Solavei</span> service a try.  I was standing in his store and my phone rang.  I was surprise.  His store has a medal roof and a lot of phones will not pick up service in there.</p>
<p>I told my wife that I am happy I switched and the great thing about it is it is only $49 a month for unlimited everything.  Plus, I am on my way of not having a phone bill at all.</p>
<p>Now my wife is waiting on her Solavei SIMM card.  She is excited that she will be able to use it anywhere, and not have a phone bill.</p>

<p><strong>Losing weight</strong> is one of the most controversial subjects out there.  Losing weight is not about being on a diet.  Diets fail, but if you start making small lifestyle changes you will succeed.<br />

<h2>Losing Weight Is Not As Hard As You May Think</h2>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline">Losing weight</span> is really not as hard as you may think if you take the right approach.  If you think you are going to lose weight overnight, then you have the wrong mindset.  You didn&#8217;t put this weight on over night and you will not lose it overnight, but you can lose it forever and keep it off.</p>
<p>One more thing, I want to point out to you.  The first place you gained your weight will be the last place you lose it.  So if you gained weight around your belly first then that will be the weight you lose last.</p>
<h2>So What Are The Small Steps To Start Losing Weight</h2>
<p>Here are some small steps you can take to start losing weight.  One thing here if you practice only one or two of them for a 21 days it will become a habit.  Don&#8217;t worry about how long it takes, just enjoy the journey know you will be losing weight and keeping it off.</p>
<ol>
<li>Get your body moving</li>
<li>If you always go back for seconds, stop and eat slower</li>
<li>When eating out eat half and leave half (or take home half)</li>
<li>If you drink sodas&#8230;say 5 a day, start drinking 4 instead</li>
<li>If you eat a lot of sweets, just cut back&#8230;5 cookies to 4</li>
<li>Add a bottle of water to your day</li>
<li>Celebrate your successes</li>
</ol>
<p>Now let me explain these small steps.</p>
<p><strong>Losing Weight Step 1</strong>. Get your body moving is one of the best things you can do.  It does not matter how little.  I&#8217;ll go over in a different article effective workouts, but for now just start moving your body.</p>
<p>In fact, I only work out 7 Minutes a day, 3 times  a week.  That is it.  My workouts are very intense and work, and since they are so short I actually look forward to them&#8230;not to mention they are very effective.</p>
<p><strong>Losing Weight Step 2.</strong> A lot of people eat fast and go back for seconds because they don&#8217;t feel full.  If you eat slower and make yourself not go back for seconds you will consume a lot less calories.</p>
<p>I always went back for seconds.  I decided okay I am not going back for seconds, but I still ate fast.  So, I said after 20 minutes if I was still hungry I was going to eat more.  I was never hungry after that 20 minutes and eventually, I started eating a little slower.  Not much <img src='http://jadendaniels.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><strong>Losing Weight Step 3</strong>.  Most restaurants give you portions that are big enough for two people.  So when you get your food, go ahead and ask for a to go box.  Put half your food in the box right away, and then begin your meal.  Take the rest home.  How about to save even more calories by not ordering a appetizer.  Do one or both of these, but take it slow because you want to make sure you are making this a life style change.  Make brand new habits.</p>
<p><strong>Losing Weight Step 4</strong>.  If you drink 5 sodas a day cut back to 4 for 21 days and make that your habit.  After 21 days cut back to three.  Keep making better habits.  People feel deprived if they quit cold turkey, so take it slow, but if you feel you can do this for a week and the next week cut back even more go for it.</p>
<p><strong>Losing Weight Step 5</strong>. Just like step 4, cut back a little at a time.  even if it is a bag of chips leave some in the bag.</p>
<p><strong>Losing Weight Step 6</strong>. I know a lot of people say I can&#8217;t drink water.  I was one of those.  Now I enjoy drinking water through out the day.  I started with just drinking one bottle.  When I would reach for a soda, I would take a swallow or two of water and then drink my soda.  I started noticing I didn&#8217;t want the soda as much, too.  It worked for me.  Just try to get some water in you.</p>
<p><strong>Losing Weigh Step 7</strong>.  This is the most important step of all.  CELEBRATE your SUCCESSES.  I don&#8217;t care how small your success is, celebrate it.  If you drank one less soda today, celebrate it.  If you moved your body for 7 minutes celebrate it.  If you didn&#8217;t go back for seconds celebrate it.  Hell tel me your success and I will help you celebrate.</p>
<p>This article is getting a little long, so I am going to leave you with this.  These are a few steps to get you started in your lifestyle change for losing weight and getting into the best shape of your life.  A change that is going to help you in <em>losing weight.</em>  I will write more step in upcoming articles, but take it slow.  Believe in yourself.  I do.  I can say if I can do it anyone can.</p>

<p>So you are ready to commit to <strong>losing weight</strong>.  You have tried every diet out there and nothing seems to work.  You just don&#8217;t have the will power to stick with a exercise program and eat just fruits and vegetables,</p>
<p>Low fat, low carb, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig&#8230;</p>
<p>P90X, Insanity, Zumba&#8230;</p>
<p>With all the diets and exercise programs,<em><strong> losing weight</strong></em> can be confusing.</p>
<h2>Losing Weight Does Not Have To Be That Hard</h2>
<p>First of all let me expose some lies about <em>losing weight</em>.  You do not need to do cardio to lose weight.  Cardio burns calories that is true, but other activities do too.  I am going to show you how you can lose weight and get  healthy without do any cardio.</p>
<p>Now if you like cardio activity then do it, but I those of you who hate cardio there is another way.   Of course, if you are training for something like a marathon you will need cardio.  But just for losing weight and getting into the best shape of your life you can exercise a lot less. In fact, too much exercise is bad for you.</p>
<p>Did you know to burn 1000 calories you have to walk on a treadmill for 1.5 hours?  Who can do that?  If you can, why would you want too?  Losing weight shouldn&#8217;t feel like a chore.</p>
<p>My wife&#8217;s friend told me that she used to look good when she was younger, but all her muscle turned to fat.  That is one of the biggest myths out there.  Muscle CANNOT turn to Fat.</p>
<p>When you don&#8217;t use your muscles they begin to shrink.  And  when you continue to eat the same amount of calories, your body stores them as fat.  Let me point out something here.  Muscles are always burning calories 24 hours a day.  Fat burns no calories.</p>
<h2>Losing weight building muscles?</h2>
<p>What does building muscles have to do with losing weight ?  Did you know one pound of muscle burns 100 calories a day.  So if you build 5 pounds of muscle you will burn the same amount of calories (at rest) a day as walking on the treadmill for 45 minutes.  And it is probably muscles you lost over the years anyway.</p>
<p>A lot of ladies think building muscle will make them look like the bodybuilder.  I am here to tell you that you will not look like that.  Look at this lady.  She lifts heavy weight.  (I was asked not to show her face) But I have trained her and she can leg press 250 pounds.</p>

<p>Her workouts last 7 Minutes and she only works out 3 times a week.  So you don&#8217;t have to workout out for hours at a time to have a great body.  There is a science to losing weight.  It is one of the fitness industries best kept secret.</p>

<p>As you can see I have deleted all my old posts, because none of them measure up to my new standard.  Let me explain.  Before I wrote posts because I thought that was what I was supposed to do to get branded, rankings, and that is what most people taught.  Even thought that is true in some cases, I wasn&#8217;t passionate about it, and I had to force my writings most of the time.</p>
<p>Now, when I write it, I am going to want to write.  It will be about something I know and can teach.  I will never force myself to write another post again.  Either it flows freely or it is not the right time to be writing.</p>
